TO:
Trustee Leaders
Leadership Advocacy Day is in two days and, if you have not yet registered, I urge you to do so immediately.
We have a great turnout from the legislative leadership, including Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver and Senate Democratic Conference Leader John Sampson.
Advocacy Day Materials Available Online
Materials for Leadership Advocacy Day are now available online. These materials include key advocacy messages and facility-specific impacts of the Governor’s proposed state budget. Hard copies of these materials will be provided to you at the registration area on March 3.
I encourage you to review the materials ahead of time, particularly the facility-specific charts, as you will want to incorporate your facility’s data into your advocacy messages.
Leadership Advocacy Day Agenda
The official HANYS/Healthcare Trustees of New York State (HTNYS) program will start at 12:15 p.m. at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center with the Leadership Advocacy Luncheon, where we will hear from the legislative leaders. You will be able to register as early as 8 a.m. where the hard copy materials will be available. A continental breakfast will be provided between 8 and 10 a.m.
The morning has been left open for you to use for your own individual meetings with legislators and to participate in any targeted meetings that the allied/regional associations have scheduled. Please contact the allied/regional associations directly for their meeting schedules.
- 8 a.m. -- Registration Begins (continental breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m.)
- 8:30 a.m. - noon -- Individual Legislative Meetings and Regional Meetings
- 12:15 - 2:30 p.m. -- Leadership Advocacy Day Luncheon; Speakers Include Daniel Sisto, President, HANYS; Joseph Quagliata, Chair, HANYS’ Board of Trustees, and President and Chief Executive Officer, South Nassau Communities Hospital; Sarah Schermerhorn, Chair, HTNYS’ Governing Board Chair, and Trustee, Ellis Medicine; and State Leaders
I would also like to remind you to download a parking permit for the day. It includes a map to help you find the “V-Lot” below the Empire State Plaza. Please note that everyone in each car must have a driver’s license for identification at the entrance booth. After you have parked, obtain your pre-paid parking pass from HANYS’ staff at the registration table. Upon exiting, insert your pass and the gate will open.
