Healthcare Trustees of New York State Elects 2010 Officers and New Board Members

The Board of Governors of Healthcare Trustees of New York State (HTNYS) has elected its 2010 chair, officers, and board members.

Sarah J. Schermerhorn, a trustee at Ellis Medicine, was elected Chair of the HTNYS Board, effective January 1.

The Board elected the following officers to serve one-year terms:

  • Vice Chair--John Lane, a trustee at Winthrop-South Nassau University Health System;
  • Secretary/Treasurer--Daniel Clark, a trustee at Alice Hyde Medical Center; and
  • Immediate Past Chair--Richard H. Hawks, Jr., Treasurer and Chairman of the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors of Thompson Health

The Board also elected four new board members to serve for three-year terms beginning January 1: Eric Allyn, Auburn Memorial Hospital; Howard Howlett, Southern Tier Health Care System, Inc.; John Neubauer, Putnam Hospital Center; and William Wright, Continuum Health Partners, Inc.

Brashich Named to AHA Regional Board

HTNYS is also pleased to announce that HTNYS board member Neboysha R. Brashich, a trustee at Eastern Long Island Hospital, has been elected to serve on the American Hospital Association’s (AHA) Regional Policy Board (Region 2) beginning January 1. Regional Policy Boards assist in fostering and maintaining communication between the AHA and its membership and state associations, and help in developing AHA policy. Contact: Sue Ellen Wagner
