Arnold Cogswell, an HTNYS Founder, Dies
Arnold Cogswell, one of the founding members of Healthcare Trustees of New York State (HTNYS), a HANYS affiliate, died on February 12 at the age of 83. Mr. Cogswell served on the Albany Medical Center Board of Governors for more than 50 years, where he led an initiative to merge Albany Medical Center Hospital with Albany Medical College. Mr. Cogswell held a wide range of other professional and volunteer posts during his career, including President of J.A.B Oversight Corporation, Trustee and former Vice Chairman of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and Governor and Treasurer of Union University. HTNYS awarded Mr. Cogswell with its annual Trustee Leadership Award in 2006. – Jennifer Carter
