More than 500 health care leaders and guests are gathered at The Sagamore on Lake George for a weekend of learning and networking at Healthcare Trustees of New York State’s (HTNYS) 28th Annual Conference. The Conference features educational sessions on health care policy, advocacy, governance, and trends. Speakers include nationally known governance expert James Orlikoff and political analyst Stuart Rothenberg.

Last night, nearly 100 board chairs, chief executive officers (CEO), and others attended the Chair’s Council dinner, a biannual event begun in 2006 that provides networking and educational opportunities for this group. Chandler Ralph, President and Chief Executive Officer, Adirondack Medical Center, addressed the audience on the importance of the relationship between the board chair and the CEO.

Tonight, HTNYS will present its HTNYS Trustee Leadership Award and Trustee Advocacy Award at an awards dinner. Look for information about the winners on the HTNYS Web site and in HANYS News on Monday.

Next year’s HTNYS Annual Conference will be held September 11-13, 2009. Contact: Sue Ellen Wagner
